VIPERS

Maddie, a university dropout, sells drugs to cover her rent, but after a transaction goes sour, she owes her supplier money. Fortunately for her, she meets someone who is eager to help.

Vipers is a 70 minute fast paced micro feature born from my interest in exploring what it would feel like for a woman to navigate a dangerous male dominated environment. I wanted to create a character who felt grounded, resilient, and tough, someone who didn’t just survive the world around her, but challenged it in her own way. Visually, the film blends a gritty handheld style with more composed, static shots, particularly during moments of dark humour from the antagonist, to highlight the tension between chaos and control. This contrast allowed me to explore both characters thematically and subjectively, weaving their opposing energies into a shared, volatile space.
